Rules

Rules
1.) Once accepted, you control your character(s), and your character(s) only. Do not decide for someone else what his or her character is doing. Ever. This is called God-Modding, and it is strictly prohibited.

2.) Any major plot events, including but not limited to: pregnancy, death, status change (finding out your character is a pureblood/half-blood/muggle-born, getting bitten by a werewolf, etc.), rape, murder, turning to the "dark side", and anything else that will drastically change your character's(s') nature or demeanor, MUST be run by the mods. You can use the moderator e-mail address to discuss plots with the moderators of this game.

3.) Please be adult. We ask for all of our players to be 17+ because of the adult themes in the game. We're also asking for maturity. Please keep player knowledge out of character's heads. Don't confuse what characters are doing or feeling with what their respective players are doing or feeling. Keep OOC OOC, and IC IC. No fighting, children.

4.) Be active in the game, or you will be removed. One action thread (preferably an OPEN thread, to encourage random interactions) is required per every two weeks. We don't want to have to kick you out of the game.

5.) Do not change your PB. Once the game starts, please do not request a PB change. This must be run by the mods. Any random PB changes without mod consent will result in your being removed from the game. Also, do not make posts, then randomly delete them. Please only post things you wish to stay in the journals.

6.) The game will take place in "real time". So today's date will be the same in-game, though there is no year on The Love Boat. If it is October 1, 2007, in-game it will be October 1, ????. Posting formats are as follows:

[info]the_love_boat - this community is for in-character interactions. All "threads" must be in third person, past tense. This format for Threads is suggested:
Who:
What:
When:
Where:
Rating:

Owls should be written in the voice of the character, and placed behind an lj-cut. (<lj-cut text="Owl to _______">)

[info]boat_ooc - this community is for any ooc (out of character) interaction. Please post in this community when you are first accepted to the game with an introduction. Any plotting/chatting/brainstorming is more than welcome here.

Journal entries can be written in the voice of the character. A description of how to "lock" entries is included in the back of the book. All of the journal entries that are public show up in every journal, and all comments show up as well. Entries can be "locked" private to specific people or sets of people, or can be "locked" private to only the author.

7.) There is a character limit of four characters per player. This may change at any time.

8.) Failure to abide by these rules may result in characters and/or players being removed from the game. Please read the rules, and keep up if we update them. Thank you.
