Imagine if you will a location outside of this universe. This location sits at the juxtaposition of several different universes, with portals that allow travelling between them. Only, something is wrong with the portals. Once a character steps through the portal, they are unable to go back. These poor souls become abandoned, stranded in the location to wait until the portals right themselves--whenever that will be. And strange things happen at the juxtaposition of so many alternate dimensions.

The first person to arrive on the ship was astounded at what he found. Albus Dumbledore was able to turn the Cruise Ship into a wonderful vacation getaway. He fashioned decks of games, entertainment, five star restaurants, very comfortable hotel rooms, and even conjured up a staff of friendly helpers to serve those who came through the portals.

It's unknown how long Dumbledore was on the Ship before others started to show up. Things were already set in place for their arrival, though. Their names had already been written down in Dumbledore's Book, he was well aware of when they were going to show up. Rooms had been assigned, and trunks of personal belongings and pets appeared in the assigned room along with each individual.

Truly a magical place, the Floating Vagabond cruises onward, unaware of the turbulence in the alternate dimensions from which it obtains its passengers. Each comes with a different backstory, a different set of ideals and morals, and their own hopes and dreams.

Any character from the Wizarding World, at any point in time, is likely to step through a doorway and find him or herself on the ship. A fifteen year old Harry Potter could come face to face with his fifteen year old father from another universe. Once a character arrives on the Floating Vagabond, no other incarnation of that character can find his or her way onto the ship.
